Sneak Peek: Blancspace Maison x Denim Iniquity
‘The Art of Summer’
Is it even a Maison collaboration without stepping behind the scenes? Welcome to ‘The Art of Summer’, a super-fun and fashionable partnership with local dressing destination, Denim Iniquity.
Denim Iniquity was founded in 1983 and has since enjoyed the privilege of styling Adelaide’s most fashionable women.
The local home of coveted national and international designers, like Anine Bing and Isabel Marant, Denim Iniquity was the perfect place for our clever Brand Ambassador and stylist extraordinaire Lauren Dilena to curate eight must-have looks for the summer season ahead. Which are ALL shoppable NOW at www.deniminiquity.com.au.
Having watched the weather like crazy people all week we decided it was full steam ahead for our beachside photoshoot on Friday 24th September, despite the questionable forecast. Everyone was on-board and determined to make some memorable magic. Which was a good thing because it.was.cold. 12 degrees in fact. But we secretly hoped you’ve never know; the reverse of ‘if you know you know’.
Our team descended on Silver Sands and set up for the day at Erin’s beach shack. Erin went straight into Hair and Make Up with artist Samantha Vlassis where the brief was ‘beachside chic’, long tousled waves and ‘no make up make up’. Lauren and Kalyca prepped and steamed all the looks downstairs while Alice Healy our photographer snapped some of these fun behind-the-scenes images.
We then all piled into our cute beach mobile – a brand new VW SUV loaned from Duttons – and headed down to the beach. Look 1 is the cutest Anine Bing set paired with a Frame Denim straw tote and gold By Charlotte necklace all accessorised with a white fringed beach umbrella which caught the wind beautifully. A quick car change and we were onto Look 2 with bright pops of colour in a little yellow must-have HunzaG bikini and Camilla and Marc shirt dress complete with icy pole, paddle bats and polaroid camera. Can we just take a moment for the pearl frame chain, so chic.
We all fainted with happiness over Look 3 as Erin lounged in a white canvas beach chair. The pink and yellow just popped against the silver sand and the Isabel Marant head scarf worked beautifully with stacks of gold rings. It was then back to the house for a quick touch up, regroup and warm coffee. (*Side note: still 12 degrees).
Ugg boots were needed as we headed back to the beach for Look 4, a summery set from Sir The Label, accessorised with an oversized Camilla & Marc denim jacket and fun blue Isabel Marant sunglasses. Fresh oranges in a market bag contrasted beautifully against the seaside blues. Look 5 from Australian designer Lee Mathews is perfect for catching the wind and Look 6 features a simple black and white Bassike sweater with monotone Birkenstocks to match. All the pops of red scream FUN.
Next it was into the water for Erin which was surprisingly warmer than the air. The shots from Look 7 – an easy breezy blue shirt by Isabel Marant – are some of the team’s favourites, just add champagne…Maison House Sparkling of course!
It was then back to the house for Look 8, a long white Lee Mathews dress with beautiful pleated detailing and fun shoulder straps. Ideal to dress up or down. Or, to wear surfing.
We broke out the bubbles for the last look of the day, a gorgeous backless silk dress by Sir The Label. Lauren teamed it with all the gold jewellery for the chicest of seaside cheers.
As one of our most favourite collaborations to date, a HUGE thank you has to go to Denim Iniquity, they are the true style professionals in Adelaide. And of course our ever-clever Brand Ambassador Lauren Dilena for curating these incredible looks for summer. We’ll take them all!
